Silvassa is the capital of the Union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It is a laidback sleepy town with tall trees lining the roads, lush green forests and quaint sylvan surroundings, exotic resorts and industries. Silvassa is a treat for adventure enthusiasts with several water parks and a paradise for those looking for handmade products. Kilvani Road is the main market in Silvassa where handmade products like Warli paintings and paper bags are sold. Endowed with nature's benevolence, the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is wedged between the highly industrialized cities of Mumbai, Surat and Vapi. From 1779 to 1954, the land was administered by the Portuguese colonialists. In 1961 it merged with the Indian Union. With an area of 487 sq km, the Union Territory captivates tourists with its promise of a gorgeous kaleidoscope of flora and fauna and matchless colonial charm. The months of December and January are considered to be the best season to visit.

By Air
The nearest airport to Silvassa are Mumbai (170 km) and Surat (137.8 km). Flights are easily available from Mumbai from all the major airports of the country. Surat is connected by flight from Delhi. The nearest international airport is in Mumbai.
By Rail
The nearest Railway station is Vapi on Western Railway. Vapi is located at about 18 Kilometres from Silvassa. All major Mail/Express trains are available at Vapi, including August Kranti, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Ahinsa, Karnavati etc.
By Road
Silvassa is served by the Mumbai-Vadodara-Delhi National Highway No. 8 (Western Express Highway). There are regular bus services from cities such as Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Nasik and other cities.
